Hip condition

Hip dysplasia

A shallow hip socket

What is it?

In hip dysplasia the socket does not fully cover the ball of the hip. This can overload the joint and lead to pain, instability and early wear.

Common signs

  • Hip or groin pain in young adults
  • A feeling of instability
  • Fatigue around the hip with activity

When to seek advice

If symptoms affect your sleep, work or daily activities, or have not improved with simple measures, an assessment can help clarify the cause and your options.
