What is it?
Osteoarthritis happens when the smooth cartilage covering the ball and socket of the hip gradually thins. The joint can become painful, stiff and less mobile over time.
Common signs
- Groin or thigh pain, often worse with activity
- Stiffness after rest or first thing in the morning
- Difficulty putting on shoes and socks
- Reduced walking distance
